Our vision:

SGS wishes to provide game changing solutions for the satellite industry.

We want to be a major provider of, hardware independent, software platforms to the aviation, enterprise and maritime market segments . This solution will be, together with increased bandwidth, a game changer in satellite industry.

We’d like to change a bespoke cottage industry into a commodity. SGS’s aviation solution also addresses the land and maritime markets. SGS intends to bring to market innovative commercial and technical offerings that will sustain IFC over the next decade and beyond.

By relying on experience of what works, how to operate and manage a service and what has significant effect on revenue and the bottom line, SGS is working to provide open-source based solutions to the market that can be operated by 3rd parties with massive cost reduction and simplicity.

The Core Team:

In early 2019, Swiss Global Services (SGS) was started as a partnership by colleagues in the aviation IFC business who identified a clear need in the marketplace for a scalable, low cost, independent, flexible, service platform to be used by airlines, satellite providers, and solution providers.

This service platform serves aviation, enterprise and maritime markets.

SGS was founded by:

Over the course of their careers, the founders of SGS have developed and deployed 3 generations of Opensource Connectivity solutions for aviation and maritime, using several satellite providers, with both WiFi and 2/3/4G connectivity.

Based on their experience, SGS developed the Next Generation Service Platform (NGSP),  the 4th generation of Opensource Connectivity solutions which is ready to launch in 2021.

Products:

The Next Generation Service Platform (NGSP) is a truly End-to-end Independent Open Connectivity Solution, built on Open Source.

It comes with an Onboard solution that is directly integrated on aviation servers, a Content Distribution Network (CDN), a set of Operations Tools and a complete Data Management suite.

The onboard NGSP manages traffic at the source, in a standalone matter, thanks to its novel enhanced edge routing capability and built-in DPI. As all traffic management is done onboard, there is no longer the requirement (and cost) of traffic management infrastructure on the ground, while still providing full remote control of the system.

NGSP is Truly Agnostic, it allows you to work with your suppliers of choice for:

Network:

Recognizing that in today’s world most aircraft already have some form of connectivity, NGSP has been designed to be compatible with all network access methods Ku, Ka, GEO, LEO and Air-to-Ground, allowing you to replace a cabin solution without having to change the satcom or a satcom without having to change the cabin solution. NGSP can even support multiple modems on the same aircraft and provide intelligent routing and switching.

ISP:

APIs are provided so that the Authentication, Access, and Accounting functions performed by an ISP can be integrated with an ISP supplier of choice.

Content and UI:

NGSP is built to support hosting in the form of Portal server content, Docker Containers and Virtual Machines (VM).

APIs are provided for custom portals / applications integration onboard allowing any provider to integrate and manage their solution.

Data As A Service:

The NGSP provides ready-to-use Operation Tools and KPI dashboards. At the same time data from the NGSP can also easily be collected into third-party Operations Tools and Business Intelligence systems to allow effective troubleshooting and in-depth data analysis.

Our Reach:

SGS operates out of Switzerland and upholds the country’s reputation for quality and reliability. Aside from developing a core communication platform the team consults on a worldwide basis.
